Holiday by the Lake = Vacances au Lac

Just four hours south of Paris, only four kilometres from the A20 Paris-Toulouse motorway, lies our distinctive holiday home, Vacances au Lac (Holiday by the Lake).

The Vacances au Lac holiday home can accommodate 14 people, making it perfect for large families who want to holiday with several families or with their grandchildren and grandparents. But of course, groups of friends or sports clubs are also more than welcome.

Lake Saint-Pardoux
The ‘Vacances au Lac’ holiday home is located 500 metres from one of the most beautiful lakes in France, Lac de Saint Pardoux. Lake Saint-Pardoux is undergoing rapid development and is not yet well known among foreigners. As a result, the lake’s three beaches are still relatively quiet and all activities around the lake are still affordable.

The family gite ‘Vacances au Lac’ is located exactly between two beaches (Plage de Chabannes and Plage de Santrop) and is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle or by car. The third beach, Freaudour, is 5 km from the house.

Activities & facilities at Lac de Saint-Pardoux.

All three beaches at Lake Saint-Pardoux have a sandy beach, playground for younger children, multi-sports field, various picnic tables, lifeguards (July/August), drinks/ice cream sales in the summer months, toilets/showers.

Cycling and walking around Lake Saint-Pardoux.
A cycle path and footpath have been laid out around the lake so that you can safely cycle with your children from one beach to another. Both the cycle path and the footpath are 300 metres from our gite.

Activities at the lake.
In both July and August, there is a fireworks display at the lake between Santrop and Chabannes. Every Wednesday, there are various activities such as an outdoor cinema and live performances.

Chabannes Beach – Water Sports Centre

Chabannes Beach has the added bonus of a water sports centre where you can hire everything you need for an active holiday on the water. They have sailing boats, catamarans, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and XXL stand-up paddleboards for 10 people, electric scooters and mountain bikes.

For the sporty members of the family, there is a beach volleyball court and a 3×3 basketball court.

A major advantage of Chabannes beach is that it has many trees that provide welcome shade on hot summer days.

In the summer months, a food truck regularly parks on the beach in the evenings, so you don’t have to go home to cook but can spend your summer evenings by the water.

A footbridge connects Chabannes beach to Santrop beach on the other side of the lake.

Plage de Santrop – Swimming pool and adventure park (accrobranche)

On Santrop beach, you will find the indoor swimming pool, where you can also use the outdoor pool in July and August, which has three fantastic slides. A whole day of water fun for a reasonable price.

If you are looking for a little more action during your holiday, for a few extra pounds you can also spend 45 minutes running around, jumping, climbing and scrambling in the Aquapark in the lake. A guaranteed successful day for young and old!

Of course, Lake Saint-Pardoux also offers the classic family holiday rentals: pedal boats, rowing boats and electric boats to discover the lake in a different way.

Le Lac de Saint-Pardoux can also be admired from the air. For this, you can visit the Adventure Park (accrobranche) at Santrop beach. Here, you can spend the whole day climbing trees and flying over the lake via various courses and cable cars.

Every Wednesday (July/August), there is a market next to the swimming pool with many local products that you can also enjoy on the spot, often accompanied by live music.

For a delicious lunch by the lake, you can visit the restaurant at Santrop every day.

Freaudour Beach – Lake Wakepark

At Lake Wakepark, you can go wakeboarding and water skiing. The Wakepark has a cableway and various obstacles for jumping. Children aged 3 and above can learn to water ski here. You can also be pulled on a large buoy by a speedboat. Equipment is available for hire.

From Thursday to Sunday, there are various food trucks at Freaudour Beach in the evenings, but the campsite also has a restaurant that is open to everyone.

Our holiday home has 6 bedrooms and sleeps 14. The largest room has bunk beds and can be used as a family room or a children’s room. All beds are 200 cm long and freshly made upon arrival. There are 2 separate toilets, 1 bathroom with shower/washbasin/toilet, and 1 bathroom with shower/washbasin.

The spacious dining and living room has beautiful stone walls and gives direct access to the spacious 2500m² garden. The kitchen is equipped with all the amenities you need to cook for 14 people independently.
